Matthew 13:1-23: Dụ ngôn về người gieo giống (2)

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, 

We started studying Matthew 13:1-23 in the last class. 

The seeds of the sower falling on four different places are compared to the four conditions of our hearts. The seed is the Word of God and the birds that take them away are the demons. 

We studied two conditions of the heart in the last class. The seeds falling on the wayside  are compared to people hearing, listening, and reading the Word of God but not receiving it in their heart. Not even a single Word enters inside such people because their hearts are filled with sin, greed, lust and all evil things. This is the first condition of the heart. 

The second condition of the heart is linked to the seeds falling on the rocks. A rocky heart is a heart that remains unmoved no matter what happens. They are the types of people who never want to change. They will not repent even when their health, peace and their whole life is affected. They will be bedridden but will not bother to repent their sins. They will not have any peace in their life but they will not pray to the true God. They will have losses and sufferings in their life, but are too stubborn to accept the truth that only Jesus can save them. Outwardly, such people pretend that they are happy with Jesus, but inwardly they are not willing to accept Jesus as their lord and saviour. Such people only follow Jesus as long as they are happy. If something goes wrong, or the Lord asks to do something that they do not like, such people will immediately stop following Jesus. 

These are the two conditions of the heart that we studied in the last class. Tonight, we study the remaining two conditions. 

The third thing that Jesus said in this parable is about the seeds falling among the thorns. When the thorns grew up, they choked the saplings. This is the third condition of the heart. The seeds of the evil thorns are lying in the heart. Without removing them, people try to fill their hearts with the Word of God. The Word of God is like pure milk. When we take milk in a cup or pan, we make sure that they are clean and pure. If there is any dirt or contamination in the cup or pan, when we boil the milk, it will get spoiled. Then we won't be able to use that milk anymore. In the same way, if our heart is impure, the Word of God cannot stay or work in our life. If the heart is filled with all devilish things, the Word of God will not work in it. 

When we sow a seed, it is expected to grow. When the seed falls on the wayside, it does not grow at all. When it falls on the rocky surface, it does grow but dries off quickly. In this case, the seed is falling among the thorns. It does grow but the thorns crush the plant. It means that the seed was sown without removing the thorns. Therefore, we need to see what are all the thorns that are inside us. The thorns are all the evils that a person has experienced throughout one’s life before meeting Jesus. 

Imagine all the bad experiences you have ever had in your life. There are people who had been abused as a child. There are people who have lost one or both of their parents quite early in their life. There are people who as a child had seen their parents, relatives or neighbours fighting. There are people who might have witnessed a horrific accident or death. There are people who might have been cheated. Each individual has a story. Every individual might have an evil experience in life. 

As you were not brought up as a child of Jesus, many people like you could not experience the protection and cover of God. When you witness an accident or a fight, the demon of fear enters inside you. If a child is abused, the demon of abuse and fear enters inside the child. They are the thorns. As these thorns grow inside, people have mental disabilities, psychological problems, sleeping disorders, anxiety, panic attacks and so on. At some point of time, if the person comes to Jesus, s/he will receive it with great enthusiasm expecting healing from Jesus. Of course Jesus will heal. There is no doubt about it. But, there are so many thorns inside. So the very first thing that such people need to do is to have a whole hearted confession and get deliverance from all the thorns which are the demons. This is the reason why the Orthdox church instructs a confession before receiving the body and blood of Christ. 

As mentioned in the last class, the rich young man wanted Jesus. But, Jesus said, yes you can have me. But, get rid of the thorn. His thorn was his ancestral property and wealth. Likewise, in John 4 we read about a Samaritan woman. She was attracted to Jesus and wanted the living water from God. Jesus said, I am happy to give you the living water, but before that go and bring your husband. She lied saying I have no husband. Jesus immediately caught hold of the thorn that was inside her. Let us read John 4:16-18. Since her youth, she was actually into adultery and kept changing husbands. Along with that evil thorn, she wanted to have a relationship with Jesus. 

John 4:16-18 Ngài bảo: hãy gọi chồng chị, rồi trở lại đây. Người phụ nữ thưa: “tôi không có chồng”. Đức Chúa Giê Su nói: “Chị bảo rằng chị không có chồng là phải, vì chị có năm đời chồng, còn người mà chị hiện có không phải là chồng chị, điều nầy chị đã nói thật.

In driving vehicles, there is a road rule. For example, when you are entering the main road from a narrow road, you must stop completely, look to your left and right and make sure that it is safe to enter the main road. Once it is safe, you enter the main road. The same rule applies to follow Jesus. From the narrow and dark roads of life, you are entering the highway of God. You need to look into your own life and clear all the evil thorns. Once your life is clear from sins and evil spirits, you can enter the main road of God. 

What this means is you need to change completely to receive the blessings of God. It means you need to change the way you think, the way you talk, the way you behave with others, and the way you do things. There should be the love and compassion of Jesus in all these things so that others may see how different it is to have a life with God. 

Let us read Ephesians 2: 1-3. As these verses say, the children of God have a past and a present. The past is the narrow and dark road through which you have travelled. In order to get you on to the main road with God, Jesus shed His blood on the cross, died for your sins, and resurrected on the third day.  By the blood of Jesus, you are saved from evil relationships. By the blood of Jesus, your anxiety, depression and panic attacks are healed. By the blood of Jesus your miseries are gone. By the blood of Jesus you are cleansed and made a new person. Let us read Colossians 2: 13-14.

Tất cả chúng ta đều ở trong số này, đã có lần sống theo những dục vọng của xác thịt và tâm trí. Như vậy, theo bản chất tự nhiên, chúng ta là con của sự thịnh nộ như mọi người khác.

 

Colosians 2:13-14, Ngài đã hủy bỏ giấy nợ chống lại chúng ta với những luật lệ ràng buộc chúng ta. Ngài loại bỏ bằng cách đóng đinh nó vào thập tự giá. Ngài đã phế bỏ các quyền thống trị, các thế lực, dùng thập tự giá chiến thắng chúng, bêu chúng ra giữa thiên hạ.

 

Our transformation as children of God is beyond all explanations. No amount of words can describe the transformation of a child of God from darkness to light, and from narrow road to the main road. This is what Saint Peter said in 1 Peter 2:9-10. As these verses say, we have received the status as royals in the Kingdom of God. We are a chosen people, holy nation, and God’s own possession. Early we were possessed by the devil. But now, we are possessed by God. So we enjoy peace, joy, and happiness. 

1 Peter 2:9-10, Nhưng anh em là dòng giống được tuyển chọn, là chức tế lễ hoàng gia, là dân tộc thánh, là dân thuộc riêng về Đức Chúa Trời, để anh em rao truyền công đức vĩ đại của Đấng đã gọi anh em ra khỏi nơi tối tăm, đưa vào vùng ánh sáng diệu kỳ của Ngài. Trước kia anh em không phải là một dân, nhưng bây giờ là dân Đức Chúa Trời, trước kia không được thương xót mà bây giờ được thương xót.

That leads us to the fourth condition of the heart. Let us read the last verse of our topic of study, Matthew 13:23. This is the condition of our heart after becoming the possession of God. Our growth will be immense. Our nature and behaviour will be immaculate. When we talk, people naturally enjoy peace and happiness. All these changes are because our heart is filled with the Word of God and the love of Jesus Christ. This is what happened when Jesus talked to the people. In the next chapter we will study about Jesus multiplying five loaves of bread and two fish to feed 5000 people. There we read that it was evening and people forgot even their food as they were immersed in the teachings of Jesus. 

Matthew 13:23, Còn hạt giống gieo trên đất tốt là người nghe, hiểu đạo và có kết quả: một thành một trăm, một thành sáu chục, một thành ba chục.

Jesus said that the seed that fell on the good ground produced a hundred fold, sixty fold and thirty fold. It means, the people who received the Word of God understood it well. They took the Word of God to their heart. The Word of God not only changed their lives but they went and used the Word of God to change the lives of other people. Some people changed the lives of a hundred people,  some sixty and some others thirty people. At this point, I need to congratulate Maria for organising the charity for the blind people in her province. Our church shared the love of Jesus with 100 poor and blind people during Easter. We shared with them John 9 as well. In this way, we were able to share the Word of God and the love of Jesus with them. This had been made possible by the tithe that Rhoda, Huyen, and Lydia gave to the Lord. May God bless you. Let us plan to do more of such things in future. 

The people of Vietnam need the love of Jesus. They need healing. They need deliverance. And, you can give all these to them. We are accountable to God. We should be able to tell God that we shared the Word and love with the people of our country. That is how we produce a hundred fold, sixty fold, and thirty fold. 

Are you ready to be transformed? If yes, take out all the thorns from your life. Confess your sins. Repent and forgive all those people who abused you and tried to destroy you. Receive the Word of God with an open heart. Let the Word of God transform you. When you are transformed, do not forget to help others also to be transformed.

In the last class, we studied in detail an introduction to the parable. 

Ở buổi trước, chúng ta đã học chi tiết phần giới thiệu về các dụ ngôn.

Tonight we look at the first parable of this chapter. Let us read Matthew 13:1-23. 

Tối nay, chúng ta sẽ học dụ ngôn đầu tiên của chương này. Chúng ta hãy đọc Matthew 13:1-23.

This is a lengthy section but we need to take it up together to understand fully. There are three sections in this passage. The first passage is the parable that Jesus said, as we read from vs.1-9. The second passage is about the purpose of the parable as we read in vs.10-17. The third passage is Jesus explaining the meaning of the parable as we read from vs. 18-23. 

Đây là một đoạn khá dài nhưng chúng ta cần phải nối các đoạn lại với nhau để có thể hiểu đầy đủ. Có ba phần trong đoạn này. Đoạn đầu tiên là dụ ngôn mà Chúa nói như chúng ta đọc từ câu 1 đến câu 9. Đoạn thứ hai là về mục đích của dụ  ngôn mà chúng ta đọc trong câu 10 – 17. Đoạn thứ ba là Chúa Giê Su giải thích về ý nghĩa của đoạn dụ ngôn như chúng ta đọc được từ câu 18 đến 23.

This parable is about a sower who went to sow seeds. As he sowed, some of the seeds fell on the path; some on the rocky ground, some fell among thorns, and some fell on the good soil. Then Jesus said that the seeds that fell by the path were immediately eaten by the birds. The seeds that fell on the rocky ground did grow up a little bit, but it just dried off quickly. Those seeds that fell among the thorns also grew up but the thorns just killed the plants. Only the seeds that were sown in the good soil grew up properly. They produced 30 fold, 60 fold and 100 fold grain. 

Đoạn dụ ngôn nói về một người gieo hạt. Khi anh ta gieo hạt, một số hạt rơi xuống đường, một số hạt rơi xuống đất có nhiều sỏi đá, một số lại rơi vào gai nhọn và một số rơi vào đất tốt. Khi Chúa Giê Su nói rằng hạt rơi trên đường bị chim ăn mất. Hạt rơi trên đất sỏi đá thì chỉ mọc lên một chút rồi héo khô. Hạt mọc trên bụi gai thì mọc lên nhưng gai nhọn làm cho nó tịt ngòi. Chỉ có hạt được trồng trên đất tốt thì mới lớn lên khỏe mạnh được. Chúng sẽ mang lại 30, 60 và 100.

One of the unique qualities of Jesus was that He always spoke in very simple sentences. It was always like talking to kids and telling them stories. So, all the people could easily understand what Jesus said. At the same time, all that Jesus said had very deep meanings that changed the lives of the people. This parable also is like that. Everyone understands what Jesus said. The deeper meaning is what we need to understand. 

Một trong những đặc điểm độc đáo của Chúa Giê Su đó là Ngài luôn luôn nói bằng những câu nói đơn giản. Nó luôn giống như nói cho những đứa trẻ nghe và kể cho chúng nghe những câu chuyện vậy. Vì vậy tất cả mọi người đều có thể dễ dàng hiểu được những điều Chúa nói. Cùng lúc đó, tất cả những điều Chúa nói đều có những ý nghĩa sâu sắc mà thay đổi cuộc sống của con người. Dụ ngôn là như thế. Mọi người hiểu những điều Chúa đã nói. Lớp nghĩa sâu hơn là thứ chúng ta sẽ được học.

As Jesus explained, the seed is the Word of God. The birds are the demons. The seeds falling on the path are about those people who are unable to understand the Word of God. They hear the Word of God; they read the Word of God, but none of the Word enters inside them. A good example would be filling a pot with water. In order to get the pot filled you will have to place the mouth of the pot right under the tap. If you place the pot upside down, all the water will only flow outside the pot and not even a single drop of water will go inside the pot. In the same way, if our attitude to the Word of God is upside down, then not even a single Word of God will enter inside us. It is like entering through one ear and immediately passing out through the other ear. 

Như Chúa đã giải thích, hạt giống là Lời của Chúa. Những con chim là quỷ. Hạt giống rơi trên đường nói về những người họ không thể hiểu được Lời của Chúa. Họ nghe về Lời của Chúa và đọc về Lời của Chúa nhưng không có lời nào thấm vào trong cả. Một ví dụ có thể là đổ nước vào một cái lọ chứa nước. Để nước vào được trong thì mình phải để lọ hướng lên trên. Nếu mình úp ngược lọ xuống dưới, tất cả nước sẽ chảy vào đáy lọ và không có giọt nào rơi vào trong cả. Tương tự, nếu như thái độ của chúng ta đối với Lời của Chúa bị úp ngược thì không có một lời nào đi vào trong. Nó sẽ giống như lời đi vào một tai và lập tức đi qua tai kia.

So why is the Word of God not entering inside? It is not entering inside because our heart is not prepared to accept the Word of God. I will give you a simple example. One day a divorced woman went to the church and started studying the Word of God. After a few days she said I want to get baptised. The priest of the church said, I am more than happy to baptise you. But, go and get reconciled with your husband first. Then I will baptise you. The woman was very stubborn and just left. Then she went to another church and requested the same thing. The priest of that church also said the same thing. So she left that church as well. What we see here is that none of the Word of God that she heard ever entered inside her heart.

Vì vậy tại sao Lời của Chúa lại không đi vào trong? Nó không đi vào trong là bởi vì trái tim của chúng ta không sẵn sàng để chấp nhận Lời của Chúa. Cha sẽ cho một ví dụ đơn giản. Một ngày nọ một phụ nữ li dị đi tới nhà thờ và bắt đầu học Lời của Chúa. Sau vài ngày, cô ấy nói tôi muốn được rửa tội. Cha ở nhà thờ nói, Cha hoàn toàn sẵn lòng để rửa tội cho con. Nhưng hãy về và hòa giải với chồng đi đã. Sau đó Cha sẽ rửa tội cho con. Người phụ nữ này rất cứng đầu và bỏ đi. Sau đó cô ấy đi sang một nhà thờ khác và yêu cầu một điều tương tự. Cha ở nhà thờ đó cũng nói một điều tương tự. Vì vậy, cô ấy lại rời nhà thờ đó nữa. Điều chúng ta thấy ở đây là không một Lời của Chúa nào mà cô ấy nghe đi vào bên trong cả.

The reason why the Word of God fails to enter inside us could be our false pride, high ego, wrong beliefs and a negative attitude. Keeping all these things inside, you may still attend the Bible class; you may still attend the Church; you may still observe the lent; you may still pray. But there is no point. As soon as you finish the class, or finish reading the Bible, or finish praying, the devil will come and steal every blessing that you may have received. This is what God said to Cain in Genesis 4: 7 that sin is waiting at your door to attack you. It happened to Judas Iscariot the disciple of Jesus. 

Lý do tại sao Lời của Chúa không đi vào trong chúng ta có thể là do sự tự ái của chúng, sự tự cao, bản ngã, niềm tin sai lạc và một thái độ tiêu cực. Giữ tất cả những điều này ở bên trong, bạn vẫn có thể tham gia Lớp Kinh Thánh; bạn có thể vẫn tham dự nhà thờ; bạn có thể vẫn giữ các kỳ Chay thánh, bạn có thể vẫn cầu nguyện. Nhưng không có giá trị gì. Ngay sau khi bạn học xong hoặc đọc Kinh Thánh xong hoặc cầu nguyện xong, quỷ sẽ tới và ăn cắp mọi phước lành mà bạn có thể vừa mới nhận được. Đó là điều Chúa nói với Cain trong Sáng thế ký 4:7, tội lỗi đang rình rập ở ngoài cửa. Và đó cũng là điều xảy ra với Judas Iscariot môn đồ của Chúa Giê Su.

Judas was with Jesus throughout. It means he heard the Word of God everyday. He was actively involved in everything with Jesus. Let us read John 13:21-27. We see here that Judas received the Holy Qurbana directly from Jesus. But, immediately after that Satan entered and dragged him away. In both the cases of Cain and Judas, we see that not even a single Word of God entered their heart. This is what it means by the seeds falling by the wayside or on the path. 

Judas đã ở cùng với Chúa Giê Su xuyên suốt. Có nghĩa rằng Judas đã nghe Lời của Chúa hàng ngày. Nó tham gia tích cực vào mọi điều cùng với Chúa. Chúng ta hãy đọc John 13:21-27. Chúng ta thấy ở đây rằng Judas đã nhận được Holy Qurbana trực tiếp từ Chúa Giê Su. Nhưng ngay sau đó, quỷ Satan đã vào trong và kéo nó đi. Ở cả hai trường hợp của Cain và Judas, chúng ta thấy rằng thậm chí không có một Lời nào của Chúa đi vào trong cả. Đây là ý nghĩa của câu hạt giống rơi dọc đường.

We read in the second section of tonight’s passage Jesus explaining why He is using parables. Let us read Matthew 13: 13 The reason I speak to them in parables is that ‘seeing they do not perceive and hearing they do not listen, nor do they understand. I explained this in the last class, especially about the secret code. The secret code is used to protect information from the enemies. The demons and the people infested with demons will hear the Word of God but will not understand. Or, they will interpret wrongly as Satan did with Jesus Christ as we studied in Matthew 4. In any case, the Word of God will only be like the seeds falling on the wayside for the demonic people. 

Chúng ta hãy đọc ở trong đoạn thứ hai của đoạn ngày hôm nay. Chúa Giê Su đã giải thích tại sao Ngài sử dụng dụ ngôn. Chúng ta hãy đọc Matthew 13:13 Ta dùng ẩn dụ mà nói với họ vì họ xem mà không thấy, lắng tai mà không nghe không hiểu. Cha đã giải thích câu này trong buổi trước, đặc biệt là về mật mã bí mật. Mật mã được sử dụng để bảo vệ thông tin khỏi kẻ thù. Quỷ và những người có nhiều quỷ sẽ nghe thấy Lời của Chúa nhưng không hiểu. Hoặc họ sẽ hiểu sai như Satan đã làm với Chúa như chúng ta đọc trong Matthew chương 4. Trong trường hợp nào đi chăng nữa, Lời của Chúa cũng sẽ chỉ như hạt giống rơi dọc đường cho những kẻ dữ mà thôi.

What we see in this parable is the four conditions of the heart. The Word of God is the same for everyone. Isaiah 40:8 The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of our God will stand forever. Likewise, Jesus said in Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. From these verses we can see that the Word of God is permanent. No matter what happens, the power of the Word of God is the same. Then why do some people complain that the Word of God is not working in them? It is because of the condition of their heart. One of the worst conditions of the heart is given in Isaiah 59:1-2 See, the Lord’s hand is not too short to save, nor His ear too dull to hear. Rather, your iniquities have been barriers between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you. 

Điều chúng ta nhìn thấy trong dụ ngôn này là bốn điều kiện của trái tim. Lời của Chúa là giống nhau cho tất cả mọi người. Isaiah 40:8 Cỏ khô, hoa rụng nhưng Lời của Đức Chúa Trời chúng ta đứng đời đời. Tương tự, Chúa Giê Su nói trong Matthew 24:35 “Trời đất sẽ qua đi, nhưng Lời Ta nói sẽ không bao giờ qua đâu”. Từ những câu này chúng ta có thể thấy rằng Lời của Chúa là vĩnh cửu. Cho dù điều gì xảy ra, sức mạnh của Lời của Chúa vẫn sẽ giữ nguyên. Vậy tại sao người ta lại phàn nàn rằng Lời của Chúa không hoạt động trong họ? Đó là bởi tình trạng của tấm lòng của họ. Một trong những tình trạng tồi tệ nhất là tấm lòng được đưa ra trong Isaiah 59:1-2 “Nầy, tay Đức Giê Hô Va chẳng phải ngắn mà không cứu được. Tai Ngài chẳng phải nặng mà không nghe được đâu. Nhưng chính vì sự gian ác của các ngươi đã phân cách các ngươi với Đức Chúa Trời mình.”

This is the first of the four conditions of the heart - A heart that is filled with iniquities and sins. As I said earlier, if your heart is filled with false pride, laziness, high ego, false beliefs and practices, not even a single Word of God can enter. They will fall by the wayside. It means you lose the Word of God. Whatever you lose is an advantage for the devil. He will immediately come and take them away from you. Therefore, the very first thing that you need to do is to get rid of all the demonic things from your heart. 

Đây là điều đầu tiên trong bốn điều kiện của tấm lòng – một tấm lòng chứa đầy tội lỗi và điều xấu. Như tôi đã nói, nếu tấm lòng bạn chứa đầy những sự kiêu ngạo giả dối, lười biếng, tự ái, niềm tin và hành vi giả tạo, không có một Lời của Chúa nào đi vào trong. Họ sẽ ngã dọc đường. Có nghĩa rằng bạn đã mất Lời của Chúa. Bất kỳ điều gì chúng ta mất thì sẽ là lợi thế dành cho quỷ. Nó sẽ mau chóng tới và mang chúng đi khỏi bạn. Do đó, điều đầu tiên mà bạn cần làm đó là loại bỏ những điều xấu xa ra khỏi tâm hồn bạn.

The second condition of the heart is what Jesus said about the seeds falling on the rocky surface. Jesus explained that the seeds falling on the rocky surface means that there are people whose hearts are hard like a rock. They are happy to receive the Word of God. But, the moment they hear things that they do not want to hear or do, they will immediately leave. For example, there are people who follow Jesus but are into adultery and evil things. If someone tells them no you cannot do that because you are a child of God, they will become upset. I hope you remember the conversation between the rich young man and Jesus. He wanted to follow Jesus. But, when Jesus asked him to sell off everything and then come and follow him, the young man stopped. This is what Jesus said about the seeds falling on the rocky ground as we read in vs 20-21 As for what was sown on rocky ground, this is the one who hears the Word and immediately receives it with joy; yet such a person has no root, but endures only for a while, and when trouble or persecution arises or account of the Word of God, that person immediately falls away. 

Điều thứ hai của trái tim đó là điều Chúa nói về hạt giống rơi vào đất đá. Chúa Giê Su đã giải thích rằng hạt giống rơi vào đất đá là những người có trái tim sỏi đá. Họ sẵn lòng nhận được Lời của Chúa. Nhưng ngay khi họ nghe thấy những thứ họ không muốn nghe hoặc làm, họ sẽ lập tức rời đi. Ví dụ, có những người theo Chúa Giê Su nhưng lại phạm tội ngoại tình và làm những điều xấu. Nếu ai đó bảo họ, không anh không thể làm vậy bởi vì anh là con cái Chúa, họ sẽ trở nên buồn bã. Tôi hy vọng bạn còn nhớ cuộc hội thoại giữa người thanh niên trẻ giàu có và Chúa Giê Su. Anh ta đã muốn theo Chúa. Nhưng khi Chúa Giê Su bảo anh ta bán hết của cái đi và theo Ngài, người thanh niên đó đã dừng lại. Đó là điều Chúa Giê Su nói về hạt giống rơi vào đất đá như chúng ta đọc được trong câu 20, 21 Hạt giống rơi trên đất đá là người khi nghe đạo thì liền vui mừng tiếp nhận, nhưng đạo không đâm rễ trong lòng chỉ tồn tại nhất thời, nên khi vì đạo mà gặp hoạn nạn hay bắt bớ thì người đó liền vấp ngã.”  

The people who stop following Jesus when affected by a negative situation are those with a rocky heart. We have many examples from this Bible class. Many people joined us with enthusiasm but the moment things did not go the way that they wanted, they stopped. I feel pity for them because they are losing a great opportunity to save themselves and their families from the demonic bondage that they are in for generations. In Jeremiah 5: 4 the prophet just consoles himself by saying Then I said, These are only the poor, they have no sense; for they do not know the way of the Lord, the law of their God. So what we should do is to pray for them so that their eyes and ears may be opened to see the Lord and hear the Word of God. More importantly we should pray that their stony heart be turned to a heart of flesh. It is our duty and responsibility to pray for such people. Do not think that they will never come back. They will come back one day. It will be the time that the Lord decides. We pray and wait patiently for that time and day. 

Người ta ngừng theo Chúa khi bị ảnh hưởng bởi một tình huống tiêu cực là những người có trái tim sỏi đá. Có nhiều ví dụ từ lớp học Kinh Thánh này. Nhiều người khi theo lớp thì đầy hứng khởi nhưng lúc mọi thứ xảy ra không như họ muốn thì họ bỏ luôn. Tôi cảm thấy tiếc cho họ bởi vì họ đã mất đi cơ hội tuyệt vời để cứu họ và gia đình khỏi xiềng xích của quỷ mà đã dai dẳng bám lấy họ nhiều thế hệ. Trong Giê Rê Mi 5:4, nhà tiên tri đã chỉ tự an ủi mình rằng Còn tôi, tôi nói: “Đây chỉ là những kẻ nghèo hèn, ngu muội. Vì chúng không biết đường lối Đức Giê Hô Va. Phán quyết của Đức Chúa Trời mình”. Vì vậy điều chúng ta làm là cầu nguyện cho họ để mà mắt họ và tai họ có thể được mở ra để nhìn thấy Chúa và nghe thấy Lời của Chúa. Quan trọng hơn, chúng ta nên cầu nguyện rằng trái tim sỏi đá của họ được chuyển thành trái tim bằng thịt. Đó là trách nhiệm và nghĩa vụ của chúng ta là phải cầu nguyện cho những người đó. Đừng nghĩ rằng họ sẽ chẳng bao giờ quay trở lại. Một ngày nào đó họ sẽ quay trở lại. Thời điểm đó là do Chúa quyết định. Chúng ta cầu nguyện và chờ đợi kiên nhẫn cho ngày đó và giờ đó.

Like the prophet Jeremiah, Ezekiel the prophet was also lamenting on the stony heart of the people. Lord answered his prayers as we read in Ezekiel 11:19 I will give them a new heart, and put a new spirit within them; I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh. As we read here, there will be a day when all the hearts of stones will be replaced with a heart of flesh. But for that day to come, we should pray to the Lord everyday. You might have tried to share the Word of God with your friends and failed. You might have tried to bring your family members to Jesus with no success. Do not be disappointed. Our job is to sow the seed. It is God who grows the seed. So we do not have to worry. 

Giống như nhà tiên tri Giê Rê Mi, nhà tiên tri Ezekiel cũng đã than khóc về trái tim sỏi đá của mọi người. Chúa đã trả lời lời cầu nguyện của ông như chúng ta đọc trong Ezekiel 11:19 Ta sẽ ban cho họ một tấm lòng mới, phú thần mới trong họ, cất lòng bằng đá khỏi xác thịt họ và sẽ ban cho họ lòng bằng thịt. Như chúng ta đọc được ở đây, sẽ có một ngày mọi trái tim sỏi đá sẽ được thay thể bằng trái tim bằng thịt. Nhưng để chờ được đến ngày đó, chúng ta cần phải cầu nguyện Chúa mỗi ngày. Bạn có thể đã từng thử chia sẻ Lời của Chúa với bạn bè và đã thất bại. Bạn có thể đã từng thử mang các thành viên trong gia đình đến với Chúa nhưng không thành công. Đừng thất vọng. Công việc của bạn là gieo hạt giống. Chính Chúa sẽ là người làm cho hạt giống lớn lên. Vì vậy chúng ta sẽ không cần lo lắng.

But, we need to look at ourselves and see whether our own heart is stony. If you think the Word of God is not working in your life, pray to the Lord and ask to remove your stony heart. Ask God to change the condition of your heart. King David prayed the same as we read in Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me. We use Psalm 51 in all our prayers. It helps us to regularly look into our hearts and see whether it is clean to accept the Word of God. 

Nhưng điều chúng ta cần nhìn vào bản thân và xem xem đó là liệu trái tim của chính chúng ta có phải là sỏi đá hay không. Nếu bạn nghĩ rằng Lời của Chúa không hoạt động trong cuộc sống của bạn, hãy cầu nguyện Chúa và cầu xin Ngài loại bỏ trái tim sỏi đá của bạn. Hãy cầu xin Chúa thay đổi tình trạng của trái tim của bạn. Vua David đã cầu nguyện tương tự như chúng ta đọc được trong Thi Thiên 51:10 Xin dựng nên trong con một lòng trong sạch và làm mới lại trong con một tâm linh ngay thẳng. Chúng ta sử dụng Thi Thiên 51 trong mọi lời cầu nguyện của chúng ta. Nó giúp chúng ta thường xuyên nhìn nhìn vào tấm lòng của chúng ta và xem liệu nó có đủ sạch để chấp nhận Lời của Chúa hay không.

We have only covered two conditions of the heart related to the problem. The first is about the Word of God falling on the path. The second is the Word of God falling on the rocks. In the next class, we will look at the remaining two.

Chúng ta mới chỉ bao quát hai điều kiện của tấm lòng liên quan đến vấn đề này. Đầu tiên là Lời của Chúa rơi dọc đường. Điều thứ hai là Lời của Chúa rơi trên đá. Ở buổi sau, chúng ta sẽ học về hai điều còn lại.

Until then, do meditate on these two and try to change the condition of your heart.

Cho tới khi đó, hãy suy ngẫm về hai điều đã học và cố gắng thay đổi tình trạng của tấm lòng của chính mình.
